Since 2005 I have been friends with an independent photographer I met way back in the “MySpace” days. I’ve had the pleasure of watching his style evolve and advance to the extremely perceptive talent he is today.
Back in my fashion shoot days I wanted to engage his eye and camera lens in collaboration. At the time he had not ventured into model photography and was not yet ready to go that direction. But now he exhibits as much quality there as he does when capturing metaphoric and environmental imagery around Montreal and during his travels.
I feel blessed to have known him all of these years. I feel even more blessed to be able to witness the captures of his lens. When I was struggling to stay afloat in this sea of high stress and life drama related to Fed, his fast-growing Instagram feed provided momentary diversion from my troubles. I could escape to the places he photographs.
So below we are pleased to bring a curated collection of JohannesGPS’ photography, as he deems related to the struggles I faced when escaping Fed and working toward justice.
This collection is dedicated to all of Fed’s survivors, as well as to people everywhere feeling defeated at the foot of the mountain that is “justice.” It is also dedicated to all of the real heroes in this case and others where empowerment runs rampant.
